With Mileena back in a world where Kitana has assumed the throne of Outworld, fans of the franchise are given a new dynamic between the duo to explore with Mileena's return. Mileena would eventually succeed Shao Kahn after the events of Mortal Kombat (2011), taking his place on the throne before meeting her demise at the hands of D'Vorah. A Tarkatan-Edenian hybrid, Mileena was created in the Flesh Pits by Shang Tsung as a clone of Princess Kitana to serve under Shao Kahn, the Emperor of Outworld at the time of her creation. Perhaps the most requested character from Mortal Kombat's expansive lineup of characters, Mileena finally joins the latest installment of the franchise. The Ultimate Edition will also come with the brand-new Kombat Pack 2, introducing three new-yet-familiar combatants to MK11.
Owners of the original game will also be entitled to a free upgrade to the next-gen version, offering improved load times, 4K resolution, and cross-generation support to coincide with the launch of the Ultimate Edition. Cross-play support will be fully implemented into the title, allowing players to battle each other on either the PlayStation or Xbox family of consoles. The Ultimate Edition of Mortal Kombat 11 bundles all of the previous content and promises a host of upgrades to the existing package.
